Enabling Operational Safety Performance (EOSP) is delivered by Safety Futures to build the capabilities of people in roles that impact operational safety but don’t work every day on the frontline. Over the 9 week online program, participants explore how to enable improved performance, understand operational safety in order to drive continuous improvement and implement a safety improvement initiative. Part 1 focuses on Enabling Improved Performance and is organised into four missions with the following learning outcomes: - Understanding the gap between work as imagined and work as done. - Exploring the 4 C’s of effective communication. - Learning how to facilitate change. - Understanding risk perception. Part 2 focuses on Understanding Operational Safety and is organised into four missions with the following learning outcomes: - Exploring the key elements in safe systems of work and SHAPED supervision. - Developing and maintaining situational awareness. - Understanding how to stop and safely restart work. - Learning how to engage in effective safety observations. Part 3 entails a personal Capstone project where participants bring all the learning to bear in a cooperative safety improvement initiative.
