Safety Leadership for Supervisors and Managers

The Safety Futures Safety Leadership for Supervisors and Managers program offers professional training to build capabilities that lead and develop a team’s ability to always achieve optimal performance. Over the program, participants explore how to: - Develop supervision as both a role and set of activities for which the team share responsibility. - Plan collaboratively. - Identify and discuss hazards. - Manage work safely, efficiently and reliably. - Execute to achieve optimal performance. - Develop individual and team capabilities. - Manage the challenges associated with uncertainty in non-routine work. - Delegate authority and match it to the appropriate level of supervision. - Apply different theories for managing change to ensure no negative impacts on operational safety. Four elements emerge as constants throughout this program: - Engaging others. - Finding the right tempo. - Planning Time Outs for Safety. - Maintaining discipline. Throughout the program, participants engage in practical work based activities that improve their ability to share what they are learning with their teams while improving their own knowledge and leadership skills.
