Safety Leadership for Supervisors and Managers

The Safety Futures Safety Leadership for Supervisors and Managers program offers professional training to build capabilities to lead and develop a team’s ability to continuously improve the safety of work. Over the 11 week online program, participants explore how to: - Engage individuals and teams into mindful execution, maintaining situational awareness and personal development. - Plan work collaboratively by accessing the experience and expertise of the team to set them up for the best possible safe start. - Work safely in the presence of hazards and engage the team so they know if any drift that is happening is due to a lack of discipline or because the system needs to be refined. - Supervise and lead, and how to deliver against a personal accountability for the quality of supervision while engaging every member of the team to share responsibility for the safety of work. - Facilitate learning by using methods of instruction, mentoring and coaching at individual and team levels to facilitate continuous learning. The culmination of the program is a personal ‘Capstone’ project in which participants synthesise the key learnings to create their own performance goals in terms of what they need to Know, Say and Do to facilitate ongoing safety improvement and leadership development. They also develop and implement a safety improvement initiative that solves a current work issue by demonstrating and embedding content from the program.
